Audiologist Specialist/Clinical Educator

About the Position: As a member of an interdisciplinary team in Western Washington University’s Speech and Hearing Clinics, provides professional audiology services to individuals with communicative disabilities such as hearing loss or impairments, auditory processing, and aural rehabilitation.  Develops habilitation or rehabilitation programs for individuals and monitors/evaluates their progress.  Under general supervision, educate, prepare and supervise audiology graduate students in the Department of Communication Studies and Disorders (CSD) in the evaluation and treatment of communication disorders, and in the development of related interpersonal and professional/technical skills.  provide direct services to patients, demonstrating clinical skills for undergraduate and graduate CSD students.

The position helps fulfill the mission of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders by providing the highest quality student-centered learning environment where undergraduate and graduate students develop the knowledge, clinical skills, and life-long learning skills to prepare them for professional careers and advanced study in speech-language pathology and audiology.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Audiology
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-A) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
  • License to practice audiology and dispense hearing aids from the state of Washington
  • One year of experience as an audiologist, including experience with both diagnostic and therapeutic approaches
